Mark van Benthem
Mark joined DM in January 2026. He had previously worked as a lawyer at a medium-sized law firm and as a senior manager at a large accountancy organisation.
Expertise
After graduating in 2013, Mark specialised in labour and pension law, completing the Grotius (labour law) and Pension Law Course (VU) with honours.
At DM, he focuses on pension law. He handles cases involving changes to pension schemes, disputes over scope, the pension aspects of mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing by industry pension funds, equal treatment, directors' liability and value transfer. Employers, pension funds, insurers, employee participation bodies, private individuals and lawyers who encounter pension issues can call upon Mark for assistance.
His approach
Mark combines honesty, empathy and analytical skills. This enables him to quickly get to the heart of difficult issues while bearing in mind the positions of all parties involved. Clients often tell him that they feel completely at ease thanks to his understanding of the various interests involved and his ability to quickly outline possible scenarios with accompanying step-by-step plans.
