Carene van Vliet

Attorney at law/managing partner

Carene graduated from Utrecht University in Criminal Law and European Law in 2004 and has been practicing law since then. Carene successfully completed the specialization course in criminal law at the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law at Utrecht University and is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA), the Criminal Lawyers Association (VCAS) and the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA).

She has been a partner at Delissen Martens since 2016. Carene is also managing partner of the firm.

Areas of expertise

Carene handles white-collar and white-collar criminal cases for both individuals and companies. She also has a particular specialty in military law. She assists both active duty military personnel and veterans with compensation cases.

She is also a member of the Personal Injury Section. She assists clients with an occupational disease in the process of recovering their residual damages from their (former) employer, such as the fire department, police and defense.

Carene also teaches at the University of Leiden, where she has been a senior lecturer in moot court for several years. She is also a member of the Hague Group of the Board of Delegates of the Dutch Bar Association.

Her approach

Carene is dedicated, creative, solution-oriented and honest from start to finish. In addition, she is empathetic and believes that building a relationship of trust is essential to achieving a successful outcome together.
